Jean-Claude Van Damme to Shoot Reality Show?
April 28, 2010
Those darn Brits get everything. They have the Queen, they have fish and chips, and now, the lucky ducks get Jean-Claude Van Damme uncensored, according to sources.
According to The Sun, the Muscles from Brussels is poised to borrow a page from the Ozzy Osbourne comeback playbook and begin filming a reality show to air on British TV.
The 49-year old Belgian, who's best known to American audiences for his star-turns in action flicks like «Bloodsport» and «Universal Soldier», is also a karate champion/kickboxer and it's his quest for a comeback title that will be at the heart of the series.
"The plan is for cameras to follow him at home and in the run-up to his comeback fight," a source close to the untitled show tells the Sun. "So as well as his home life we'll get to see his gruelling training regime, which with him being nearly 50 should be interesting."
Interesting, too, will be the familial situations. Although a decision about just who will appear on the show has yet to be made, the drama seems ripe for the picking; JC's been married a whopping five times to wives running the gamut from bodybuilder to Hawaiian Tropic model and has three kids, ages 15-23. "He's had quite a life and he's become a real character," the source says, "You never quite know what he's going to do or say next."
Van Damme's big fight against former boxing Olympic gold-medalist, Somluck Kamsing, is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas in October.
