Coming to Blu-ray

The mussels from Brussels is back on high-def, with Peace Arts announcing a late-April Blu-ray date for the Jean-Claude Van Damme actioner "JCVD".

Originally tagged a comeback vehicle for Van Damme on the order of Mickey Rourke in 'The Wrestler,' "JCVD". sees the actor deliver a more mature, weathered performance in the crime thriller.ADVERTISEMENT

Unfortunately, and no doubt hampered by a title that sounds like a venereal disease, "JCVD". failed to attract domestic moviegoers, and after a brief theatrical run, the film will essentially head straight-to-video on April 28 when Peace Arts releases the Blu-ray (day-and-date with the standard DVD).No tech or supplement specs yet, but we'll keep you posted. Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.95.
